We depend on the support of people who understand that a healthy, sustainable, and vibrant community is a diverse and well-integrated community. While federal and state fair housing laws have made discriminatory housing practices illegal for many years, these formerly legal practices have likely contributed to the concentrations of low cost housing and lower income and minority populations in certain neighborhoods. The legacy of legal, government-endorsed housing discrimination has yet to be fully dismantled.

The segregation of minorities and low-income people in certain areas typically has adverse effects for the entire community, such as dilapidated housing, lower-achieving schools, and limited commercial establishments, including grocery stores that provide fresh and healthy food. Implementation of fair housing practices would help ensure that all households have an opportunity to reside in close proximity to their existing or potential employment, as well as within reasonable proximity to other community facilities such as schools, health care centers, parks, and areas offering shopping and other services.

If you would like to contribute to the goal of promoting full access to housing opportunity, both rental and ownership in our communities, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, or familial status, please join us by becoming a member. We accept donations in any amount. Send your tax-deductible contributions to:
